It doesn't matter if you go self catering or fully inclusive, the chances are that at sometime in your holidays you will the need to recycle some of your mucky clothing. That means washing. Urggg, I hear you groan. "But I'm on holiday", That doesn't get you any sympathy whatsoever from your spouse or the grubby kids. Fear not, help is at hand. There are a number of launderettes in Tenerife eagerly awaiting your soiled attire so try these for starters.

Whirly Wash. This is a British owned and run utility in Los Cristianos offering a range of services including collection and ironing. They are located just off the front two minutes walk from the docks office. If you click the thumbnail it will enlarge and show you exactly. So all is not doom and gloom, go ahead and do most of your washing just before you go home. Its amazing how this chore doesn't seem half as bad when the suns shining, and think of the time you'll have saved when you eventually get home. Sorry, I know some ironing will be unavoidable, the alternative, if brave enough, is to pack your bags and come live here with us. Unfortunately washing still needs doing, even in paradise. Back to reality though, the prices are around 600 ptas per machine, but they are big capacity, dryers about 500 ptas, again good size. Watch the heat settings !!!!. Amazing how a 42inch chest garment won't fit a chimp when you're not careful.

Mare Verde, this is an apartment complex in the Torviscas area. It is just up the hill beyond Hotel Esmeralda & Hotel Torviscas. There is a launderette available to the public within this centre. It is downstairs behind the bus shelter, directly opposite Hotel Playa Olid on the 473 bus route. The machines belong to the supermarket so if you need change go to them not reception. They cost 600 ptas each and dryers are take 500 ptas. They are large capacity industrial size so you'll get a full wash for around £2-20.
